In my prayer journal I like to write a list of husband encouragement goals for the week (sometimes just for the day). And this week I thought I'd share...
* Honor/encourage Kevin's 45 minutes of down time when he gets from work--take Eli somewhere or use that time to do my chores so he can enjoy some quiet.
* Suggest listening to Pastor Dave sermons. Kevin's mentioned how likes Pastor Dave the best and even though there are other sites I'd rather listen from, I'm going to support Kevin at that the best I can.
* Order the book A Husband After God's Own Heart for Kevin. Even if he doesn't ever want to read it, I at least want to look through it, and then it will be available to him if he wants it.
* Ask Kevin how I can pray for him each day.
* Pray for him daily.
* Plan an evening of something fun.
* Wake up before Eli so I have a better attitude when taking care of Eli.
* Keep up with cleaning schedule. It helps me feel better when things are organized and I don't have to ask Kevin's help with things at the end of the day because it's already taken care of.
For those of you who did the Husband Encouragement Challenge with me, and for those of you who didn't, what have you been doing to encourage your husbands at home??

Who is "Pastor Dave"??
ReplyDeleteOh, I need to work on encouragement. I was really bad at that this week-end, more like the discourager! So, I will have to think and come up with some encouraging things. I like the idea keeping a record of things to do. Have a good week! Julie
ReplyDeleteYou are very inspiring. Your husband is lucky to have you!
