The things we SHOULD have learned.

There's a lot of brain work involved in managing home and family but nothing we ever learned about in school.  So just for fun I came up with some "test questions" that include some of the skills we use today!  Feel free to add some more in the comments!

Math
1. If you have approximately 6 loads of laundry to do and you keep adding 2/3 of a load every day, how many loads of laundry should you do each day in order to be completely caught up by the end of the week, assuming today is Monday?

2. Choose a recipe of your liking. Now triple all the ingredients.

3. Your errands require stops at Store A, Store B, Store C, and Store D.  Based on the items being purchased and the location of the stores all over the city, create a logical route for the driver.

Accounting
4. Given this list of regular monthly expenses, create an appropriate budget for a family of four.

Science
5. What regular household products can you use to get stains out of clothes? Do an experiment to find out which solution works best, for whites and for darks.

Home Ec
6. Plan and prepare a week of meals, making sure to use up any ingredients currently in the fridge or on sale at your local store, and time your meals carefully so everything is done all at the same time Husband returns home from work at 6:15pm.

That's a start of practical things we could have learned in school to prepare us for real life.  What else could we add to our list??
