I started beginning reading with Eli. So far he's learned the -at word family, so he can read bat, cat, fat, hat, mat, pat, rat, sat, and that. This week I'm going to introduce the -ad word family (bad, dad, fad, had, etc) He's really good at blending the words quickly! I prefer chunking words, if possible, rather than sounding out each individual sound.
