Christmas: Here I Am to Worship {Re-post}

Posting this again because it's still on my mind this year...

Originally posted 12/25/10:

After our Christmas dinner tonight, and while waiting for our pie to come out of the oven, I sat down to the piano, something I don't do often anymore, to play some Christmas songs.  I was hoping to come across a song or hymn that's not usually sung at Christmas that would fit perfectly, for tonight this was it.  This part of it anyway.  "Here I am to worship, Here I am to bow down, Here I am to say that You're my God. You're altogether lovely, All together worthy, all together wonderful to me...."  I picture myself in the place of the shepherds and wise men and all those that came to worship the new King, and now here I am to worship the babe who came to save the world!

Here I Am to Worship

Light of the world
You stepped down into darkness.
Opened my eyes, let me see.
Beauty that made this heart adore You
Hope of a life spent with You

Here I am to worship,
Here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely
All together worthy,
All together wonderful to me

King of all days
oh, so highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above
Humbly You came
To the earth You created
All for love's sake became poor

Here I am to worship,
Here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely
All together worthy,
All together wonderful to me

You can listen to the full song here.  May you all have a wonderful, WONDERFUL Christmas!!

The perspective of singing this at the manger is lovely! And may we continue each day with that heart of worship...

Same sentaments as Silent Night. Great perspective and choice. Teared up as I read this and pictured singing this to baby Jesus on that night long ago.
