Dreaming of spring [a poem]

dreaming of spring
where the daffodils bloom
and the birds sing
sipping sweet tea
on the porch swing.
gentle breeze
floating through our home
the scent of lemon
kisses my nose
the grass is green
we play outside
we pile high
for a wagon ride
balls, tricycles, bubbles galore
every day leaves us
yearning for more
the chirping crickets
lull me to sleep
with windows left open
for the cool night breeze
I wake up early
the sun warm on my face
ready for life
with a quicker pace
butterflies flitting gently about
beautiful gardens beginning to sprout
morning strolls through the park
afternoon thunderstorms
playing 'til dark
reading books under the shade
picnics outside
most every day
oh dear spring
how I long for thee
'tis the season
that most revives me

Oh, I've never been sooo ready for spring as I am this year! And I have a feeling a thousand people probably are feeling the same! What are your favorite things about spring?

My favorite thing about spring is when the dirty, chunky snow melts away. The grass seems to turn green in a day - I love that day. The buds on the trees that explode after a good spring rain. The new flowers that start to sprout up with bright green leaves and they're just so full of life! And the blossoms on the trees and flowers. The smell of spring. The blue skies with a few clouds. The smell of the kids after they've been playing outside (before it's too hot that they smell like sweat, and before the UV index is too high that they smell like sunscreen). Everything is fresh and new. Seeing the kids wear short sleeves and shorts again - their chubby arms and legs. And their cute little toes in sandals, or bare feet running through the soft grass. Watching the plants come up in the garden, and getting to eat them fresh! Watching the kids re-learn how to ride their tricycle or bicycle or power wheels. The sounds of kids playing outside. The birds! Butterflies. I could go on FOREVER! Spring is obviously my favorite season!

ahhhh Spring....I have seen the teasing sites of it the last couple of weeks, but I know that they will be gone in a week or so as more cold weather comes in again...

My favorite thing about spring is watching the blooms on all the flowers and the buds on the trees and they develop into leaves, I love watching new life as the baby birds and butterflies and baby animals all around are learning... I love watching the look of awe on my kids faces as they experience new things every spring...new sites, new sounds.

And yes, I am SOOOOO ready for Spring! I am usually a winter time person, I love it, but between sickness and the bitter cold artic blast we had, I am wintered out this year.....Hurry Spring!!!!

Blessings
