Husband Encouragement Challenge: Day 5

DAY 5: Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Ephesians 4:29

Another way to describe the positive side of this "30-Day Encouragement Challenge" is by using the word "edify," which means, "to build up." Negative comments only discourage and tear down. Positive comments encourage and build.

Do you edify your husband before others, adding to his value in their eyes? This is especially important to other family members.

Do you praise your husband to his relatives, and yours? Does your husband's mother know how much you love him? How about your dad? Perhaps you can drop a word of praise into a conversation or letter. Be creative in letting your relatives know that you respect your husband, love him, and support him - in spite of whatever flaws and weaknesses he may have.

Another good verse I like: Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you will know how to answer everyone. Colossians 4:6

Last time doing this challenge I determined that I was going to make it a point to say something positive about Kevin every time I talked on the phone with someone. Somehow work it into the conversation. But since then, I haven't really done that. Soo... we're going to start again!

Let me just say... yesterday during the day I half-jokingly told Kevin that I wanted him to prepare me a bubble bath, complete with music and candles. Last night when I went to start my bath, as soon as he heard the water running, he came up and finished getting things set up for me. Complete with relaxing music and candles surrounding the tub. He then escorted me to the lovely prepared bathroom with me in a robe and slippers as like the spa. It was very sweet. And ahh, a nice, warm, relaxing bath at 9 months pregnant was just the ticket. Good work, hubby!
