Answer Me This: Ikea

Okay guys, fill me in, what's so great about Ikea?? I've never been there and never even lived near one, but based on friends' comment I read here and there, I must be missing out on something. So tell me, what is this store like and why is it so great??

Unique designs and great prices!!
But I don't like assembling the stuff and neither does Jay so we don't get much there. But I love the accessories for sure!

Sarah - we've just gone one time and it was AMAZING! Everything is SUPER cheap and very modern. They have just about anything you could want for your house - from furniture to silverware and tons of cute kids stuff and organizational stuff. It is an enormous warehouse type building that is just full of so much stuff. And they have daycare for any potty trained children!!

I wish there was an Ikea closer than Minneapolis!

great storage stuff! I have two of their large cube bookshelves and love them so much! they hold sooo much stuff. they also have good baskets and organization supplies. their furniture is a bit modern for my taste so other than bookshelves I don't have any of that.

We lived near one in VA but we never went. I am curious as to how cheap their cheap is because what we can afford is usually way under what others consider cheap. LOL

Cheap, modern, but of poor quality. We got our first dresser/bed from there and the dressers fell apart. The cheap stuff is made of fiber/particle board. Great for trendy stuff though. Fun lights, pic frames, etc.

Most of our furniture is from Ikea, and we LOVE it! The prices are kept low by packing things flat and you assemble them yourself. If you go to the showroom floor, you will be hooked! Everything in IKEA is about organization and making the best use of space. They also have very good employee rights policies and use alot of recycled material. It's especially great for those on a budget.

We LOVE IKEA! We have one about 40 minutes away and we will make the drive just to shop there. All of my daughter's dressers are from there and they've stood up well to the beatings of a 5 year old. My mom's kitchen is from IKEA and I drool every time I go into it! It is beautiful and so well organized...and the whole thing with appliances was only $3000. Her floor is from there too and it's beautiful! There stuff is really affordable, and so far we've been very pleased with everything we've gotten there!
