What a ripoff!!

Our county fair is yesterday and today, and I always knew these things were expensive but I didn't really THINK about it until last night, and it's so disgusting it kind of makes me want to throw up. Except not really. But look at the math here...

1 token = $1
30-second ride = 4 tokens ($4) x 2 kids = $8!!!! for a ride that's equally exciting as a quarter machine ride! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!!

And yes, you can get 25 tokens for $20 but that's still 80 cents per token and more than $6 for one measly ride. RIDICULOUS!

And then the generator went out and there were NO rides. And we left with a 4-yr old having a COMPLETE MELTDOWN {too tired}. Awesome fair.

Because of the extreme heat today, our MOPS group is not walking in the parade again tonight, but we will be heading to town again to try the rides one more time. After all, I can't bear to just throw those tokens away! Sheesh!

This is why we usually get the boys the wristbands and let them ride as many rides as we have time for. You get more for your money that way. I agree though, it's crazy expensive. If the state fair hadn't moved, I'd rather take the kids there.

I know it's so expensive! I'm glad my kids aren't at the age where they can ask for stuff like rides (yet). lol Will you go to the parade today?

The fair is expensive... whether you go to the state or county fair. Our fair is not until the end of September or beginning of October. My husband and I would like to take our nieces to see the animals and the petting zoo, but we have not reconciled the cost, yet. I hope you at least enjoy using up the rest of your coupons today.

that kind of thing drives me nuts too - it's like they know you want to make your kids happy so they rip you off. I always feel bad b/c we always end up limiting our kids to like 2 rides each and they're always so sad but we can't afford much more than that!!

Thanks for making me feel better that my kids have NEVER gone on those kind of rides! We walked past some at the firworks a week ago and I was feeling like such a terrible mom! I'd rather save our money towards a trip to Disney or something!!

There's so little for entertainment around here you can hardly NOT do the fair!

I personally have NO DESIRE to go to Disney! TOO CROWDED for me!

We never do the county fair, we prefer to do the church festival instead, which is more reasonable, all the rides are only 1 ticket. But don't count out Disney! It's incredible! It is crowded but it's so big that you really don't realize how many people are there. Just stay away from Spring break and most of the summer months when it is really hot and even more crowded!
