Be productive.

So after the last two posts here and here about how sluggish I am with my homemaking, now I have some encouraging Bible verses for you...

Philippians 2:14-16
"Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life--in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing."

1 Thessalonians 4:7,11
"For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life... Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and that you will not be dependent on anybody."

Ephesians 5:15-17
"Be very careful, then how you live--not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is."

Colossians 3:23-24
"Whatver you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive and inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."

Proverbs 21:27
"She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness."

Galatians 6:9 NKJV
"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart."

And just let me add, boosting my homemaking skills {or attempting to} does NOT replace the time playing and training I do with my children! I'm just trying to make better use of the time I usually spend checking email and social networks! As much as I've been really trying to work on it this week, I'm still failing! *sigh* BUT the day is not over and every minute counts!

Excellent quotes.

Just today I browsed through Dr. Laura's book on SAHMS. It was a good read (what I was able to soak in)

I read your posts on this subject. Let me tell you from experience that I remember a couple of years ago feeling like I was not a good homemaker. Taking care of small children just takes so much out of us. Much more than we realize at the time! But now that my children are elementary age things are sooo much better. I have trained them to help out and I am so on top of things now-in a way I never thought possible. So be encouraged! It gets better! This is a season-enjoy it and do your best as unto the Lord!
